Have you reversed any health problems by changing your diet? This was a question I posed to my Healthy Living How To Facebook Fans this week. The response was overwhelming! Honest to God, I read each one and got overcome with emotion. It never ceases to amaze me the power of the fork. Whether that be for the good or the bad. The human body is wonderfully made and it wants to be healthy and whole and can be with the healthy real food. I believe it with all my heart. Speaking of which, it literally breaks my heart to hear and read stories of unhealthy people, whether it be friends, family or complete strangers, at their wit's end when it comes to their health, going from doctor to doctor, and drug to drug, looking for a solution. As I quote below, Ann Wigmore, “the food you eat can be either the safest form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.” I hope this inspires you today!

51. Eight years ago I was dx'd with type ii diabetes. My doc immediately put me on the South Beach diet to cut the carb craving. About the same time I found Br. Bernstein's blog and book. He is a Type 1 who is also a physician. He says diabetics should eat 6 carbs for breakfast, 12 for lunch and 12 for dinner. I have been able to control my glucose by eating very low carb and walking. I eat high, good fats. My lipids are great. So, according to the way I feel and my blood work, eating this way is the way for me. – Amanda S.

53. My son, who is 3, was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder (nervous system issue akin to a very mild autism) 4 months ago. I used to be a behavioral therapist with children with autism and knew many of my clients had their kids on a GF/CF diet- so it was my first thing to research. When I pulled gluten especially out of my son's diet (and our family) he began talking in full sentences, carrying on play schemes, and able to attend/focus for longer periods of time. AMAZING. Coupled with occupational therapy, he is making huge strides. Not to mention that my daughter's stomach troubles have stopped completely, and neither of my kids need their allergy shots anymore! They are hardly ever sick now- all of this I attribute to going gluten/casein/red dye 40 free and taking a good probiotic. – Rebecca S.

70. Yes!!! I was using aspartame daily for years, and when I stopped using it my epileptic seizures (5-10 a day) went away (that was the only change I did at that time and I can't see it in another way than the seizures was caused by aspartame). I started doing changes to my diet, going LCHF, and I have now reversed my diabetes, insulin resistance, high blood pressure, depression, chronic fatigue, PCOS, triglycerides is going down and my cholesterol profile is way better. There is no going back ever. It's amazing reading all of the comments, keep up your good changes! Wish more people could realize what impact our diet has on our health! – Kariann M.

After being on immune suppressants – injected Humira for 7 years and prednisolone and NSAID s for thirteen previously I have gone drug free as my psoriatic arthritis and accompanying symptoms : permanent bloating , endometriosis, brain fog, exhaustion , depression , mood swings , joint changes , psoriasis , weakness , dry eyes are practically negligible – at 47 I felt better than ever in my memory – Lchf diet grain free careful with oxalates .
